Dealing with a disaster is the last thing most people want to do.
That's where we come in. Check out some of our most frequently asked questions.
Frequently asked questions
I came home and there is water all over the floor. What should I do now?
Answer. Call Palm Restore With our 24/7 on call technicians, we will come to assess the loss and begin removing the water immediately to prevent secondary damage.
What is mitigation?
Mitigation simply means preventing secondary damages. So before we can begin repairing your property, we m. first stop the leak and dry out the structure in order to prevent rot and/or microbial growth. Every water loss has two phases: Mitigation (dry out) and then Build Back (repairs). Once Mitigation is complete, estimates and other supporting documentation are sent to your insurance for review while we begin planning for the build back.
Is Palm Restore able to do my repairs after everything is cleaned up and dried out?
Absolutely! We are a FULL-SERVICE restoration contractor, which means we will restore your home or business back to “pre-loss condition”. We take pride in being able to offer quick emergency services for mitigation, but we also take great pride in our quality of craftsmanship throughout the repairs process.
Insurance wants to use another company on their “preferred contractor” list. Do I have to use them?
No. You, as the owner, have the right to choose any licensed contractor
to perform your repairs. It’s important that the homeowner is involved in deciding who works on their property. Though we don’t subscribe to being on a “preferred vendor list” we use industry standard estimating software and practices that are consistent with nearly every insurance company. We speak the same language as your insurance adjuster, but we ultimately work for you,
the owner. So that means we won’t be taking any shortcuts just to minimize costs for the carrier, but we will be working for you to bring your property back to full restoration with quality and integrity.
How long will this all take?
It depends on many factors. Each loss is unique and comes with their own set of challenges. We can begin mitigation work immediately in the event of an emergency, but structural repairs will not begin until we have an agreed upon scope of work and costs with your insurance company. This ensures that the homeowner is not stuck with surprise out-of-pocket expenses and that our work is being fully covered by your insurance company. Projects can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months depending on loss type and size.
